This is a fly (Bactrocera deae) that lays its eggs directly on the olive (you can spot a small puncture hole). The larva of this fly develops inside the fruit, causing it to rot and potentially leading to significant crop losses. The pheromone trap helps capture male moths and reduce the infestation.
