How the Vine Weevil Trap Works

The adult vine weevil is a nocturnal insect. Looking for a place to hide under the grooved wooden board (this trap), the insect will unintentionally coat itself with nematodes (microscopic worms) in gel form; then, in just a few days, the nematodes will infect and eliminate it. Please keep the board very moist so the nematodes work optimally.

The trap consists of a grooved wooden board containing millions of nematodes (microscopic worms). These nematodes, known for their parasitic effect on vine weevils, will then be waiting for them when day comes. Since vine weevils feed at night, upon contact with the nematodes they will be infected immediately and die a few days later. That’s how to protect your flowers and small garden fruits!

Contents and use

The trap contains a grooved wooden strip with 2.5 million Steinernema Carpocapsae nematodes in gel. The trap remains effective for 6 weeks. The vine weevil trap must be set out as soon as you receive your parcel (the nematodes are activated by the ambient temperature during transport).

Dosage and information:

• Store in the refrigerator (4–12°C) until the date indicated on the packaging.
• The gel is active for about 6 weeks after the trap is set up
