The Red Killa Trap® makes it possible to turn any bottle into a trap against Drosophila suzukii and Rhagoletis cerasi. Combined with the “Red fruit flies” attractant, the method makes it possible to massively trap insects harmful to the orchard. The red color maximizes attraction..
Bottle Preparation: Remove the bottle’s safety ring.
Bait Installation (diammonium phosphate): Pierce the upper part of the bottle several times to create additional access points for the flies.
Trap Placement: Fill the bottle with the bait: 20 g of diammonium phosphate + 500 ml of water
The traps must be installed 1 month before the fruit ripens (early April) and remain in place until October. Coating the bottle with aerosol glue helps increase the number of catches.
