The red spider mite, or mite, mainly attacks indoor and greenhouse plants. They feed on sap by piercing the plant, causing small white spots and the yellowing of leaves. The presence of spider webs is an indicator of their presence.

How to detect the presence of red spider mites?

Red spider mites are tiny insects that are difficult to spot; however, traces can give away their presence. Spider webs are an excellent way to spot them; they weave them between the leaves. The appearance of small yellow or white spots on the leaves also helps to identify them. Tip: it’s easier to spot the webs in the morning dew or by misting the plant with water.
