A truly special ladybug

The ladybug Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri is used to eliminate mealybugs from your crops. It also attacks soft scale insects, which are found on linden trees, horse chestnuts, magnolias, hydrangeas, holly.

  • Adult: size 4 mm, reddish-brown, black-brown wings.
  • Larva: measures up to 13 mm, body covered with waxy filaments; may be mistaken for a mealybug, but is more mobile.

How to release Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri?

  • The release temperature must be above 16°C.
  • Preferably apply in the evening.
  • The release should preferably be carried out in a greenhouse or conservatory, so that the ladybugs don’t fly elsewhere, but stay nearby.

Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri beneficials have a very short lifespan and must therefore be introduced into the crop upon receipt; otherwise, their quality could be affected. Larvae and adults are predators and consume mealybugs entirely.

Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri requires a minimum temperature of 16°C. However, since the Cryptolaemus species prefers high temperatures and relatively humid environments, Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri will demonstrate its full effectiveness between 25°C and 28°C. Adult ladybugs are more mobile than larvae and are therefore particularly useful for a general introduction or on tall crops. It is recommended to use larvae for targeted treatments.
