Lithothamne or Maërl: a classic in organic gardening for living soil

CP Jardin lithothamne is a calcareous seaweed of marine origin, naturally rich in calcium (CaO: 42 to 47%), magnesium (MgO: 6 to 8%) and more than 30 trace elements. This 100% natural mineral concentrate is a tremendous soil amendment, used for generations in vegetable gardens to rebalance soils, strengthen plants, and improve their resilience.

By activating microbial life and remineralizing tired soils, lithothamne promotes the uptake of essential nutrients. It works gently, without scorching, and helps crops thrive more healthily. It is an essential ally in organic gardening.

The benefits of CP Jardin lithothamne

✔ Excellent pH corrector for acidic soils

✔ Boosts plants’ natural resistance (diseases, stress, pests)

✔ Reduces the risk of blossom-end rot (black bottom in tomatoes)

✔ Remineralizes the soil sustainably without imbalance

✔ Improves soil structure and stimulates microfauna

✔ Made in France 🇫🇷, no additives, no synthetic products

  • 6. Maintain tomato stakes: limits contact diseases via the soil.
  • 7. Fight weeds: especially horsetail (Equisetum arvense).
  • 8. Activate compost: speeds up decomposition and balances C/N.
  • 9. Feed young rhubarb plants, strawberry plants…: promotes vigor without excess nitrogen.
  • 10. Help green manures: as a supplement, strengthens winter cover crops.
