This pheromone trap is ideal for the cherry fruit fly, the olive fly, and the Mediterranean fruit fly. All pheromone capsules on the market are compatible with this trap.

At breeding time, female flies secrete a pheromone to attract males. This same pheromone is contained in the capsules. Placed in the trap, the pheromone capsule attracts and captures the males, preventing reproduction and egg-laying from taking place. A pheromone is specific to each fly species, which makes this trap 100% selective; the pheromone is harmless to the environment.

The trap is designed to capture small, highly volatile flies such as fruit flies; it includes a basket to hold a capsule and a container to hold soapy water to permanently trap the flies.
