Roasted horn: a classic in organic gardening for controlled growth

Roasted horn CP Jardin is a natural organic fertilizer derived from animal materials, rich in slow-release nitrogen. Particularly suited to trees, shrubs, roses, or potted plants, it nourishes the soil deep down while promoting steady growth without excess.

Roasting helps slightly speed up nutrient release, making this fertilizer effective in the short and medium term. Unlike crushed horn (slower), it acts more quickly while preserving the soil’s microbial life.

Used as a base dressing or for maintenance, it supports plant establishment, root development, and plants’ natural resistance to stress, diseases, or pests.

Why use roasted horn CP Jardin?

✔ Rich in proteins: promotes long-lasting plant growth

✔ Gradual, sustained action, with no risk of scorching

✔ Ideal fertilizer for trees, hedges, shrubs, beds, roses

✔ Compatible with container growing as well as in-ground cultivation

✔ Easy maintenance: simple to spread, no lingering odor

Did you know? 🌱

Horn is one of the oldest fertilizers used in traditional gardening. It naturally releases nitrogen over several weeks, which avoids the “quick boost” that can sometimes be harmful with fast-release chemical fertilizers.

Directions for use

1 handful = 30 to 40 g

🌿 Balconies and terraces

  • Planting: 70 g per 10 liters of potting soil
  • Maintenance: 35 g / 10 liters of soil, spread on the surface, lightly scratch in and water

🌳 In-ground

  • Planting trees or shrubs: 160 to 320 g per plant depending on size. Mix into the backfill soil of the planting hole
  • Note: for a slower release, choose crushed horn
  • Annual maintenance: 50 to 120 g / m² depending on soil richness. Spread on the surface, lightly scratch in and water

Roasted horn vs Crushed horn: which should you choose?

Criteria Roasted horn Crushed horn
