This nest box was designed for the robin. Besides the robin, you can also expect the spotted flycatcher and the common redstart to visit the nest box. For robins, you should place the nest box in a well-hidden spot, on or near the ground (max. up to 1.5 m above the ground) among dense shrubs or vines, so not in direct sunlight or on the side that catches the rain, and with an unobstructed approach path for the bird. For the spotted flycatcher and the common redstart, you should hang the nest box on a tree or a wall, at a height of 1 to 5 m above the ground.
Autumn is the best season to clean the nest box. In harsh winter conditions, the nest box provides shelter and protection for birds.
