Mosquito larvicide with Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti)

Effectively eliminate mosquito larvae with our biological larvicide based on Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (or mosquito Bti), boosted with an ultra-low dose of geraniol (0.01%). Bti is a bacterium naturally found in soil, specifically toxic to mosquito larvae and certain dipteran insects. This treatment works within 24 hours, blocks their development, and prevents the emergence of adult mosquitoes, including tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus).

Ideal for treating stagnant water around the garden or home: ponds, basins, inspection chambers, water butts, pits, natural pools…

  • Long-lasting protection: up to 5 weeks
  • Targeted action: works only on mosquito larvae
  • Easy to dose: mini granules to scatter on the surface
  • Environmentally friendly: safe for most animals

Why use a Bti larvicide?

The tiger mosquito is rapidly spreading in France and can transmit dengue, chikungunya, or Zika. A simple puddle or plant saucer can become a breeding site. Bti larvicide is an eco-friendly solution that acts upstream, from the larval stage, and safely breaks the breeding cycle.

Safety for your pets and the environment 🌱

Bti acts only on the larvae of targeted insects (mosquitoes, black flies, simulium…). It is safe for mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and plants. The formula also contains 0.01% geraniol, a natural plant-based insecticide, used here in a tiny amount to enhance the larvicidal effect.

👉 At this dose, no toxicity has been identified for humans, dogs, cats, poultry, turtles, tadpoles, or frogs (Sources: EFSA, INRS, ANSES, ECHA).

✅ Treated water can therefore be used safely to:

  • Provide drinking water for pets or backyard animals (chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits, pigeons, etc.)
  • Water the vegetable garden or ornamental plants (rinse vegetables before consumption)
  • Wash laundry with collected water

However, avoid use in bird baths, bee watering stations, or ponds containing fish or crustaceans: even at a low dose, geraniol is recognized as moderately toxic to pollinating insects and certain aquatic organisms in the event of repeated exposure (ref. CLP Aquatic Chronic 2, ANSES 2020, ECHA substance assessment).

Available formats

Format Treated area
50 g sachet Up to 25 m²
150 g box Up to 75 m²
500 g box Up to 250 m²
2 kg bucket Up to 1000 m²

Directions for use

  • Recommended dose: 2 g (≈ 1 teaspoon) per m² of water surface (≈ 0.5 g/L for shallow depths)
  • Duration of action: 4 to 5 weeks. In case of heavy rain, reapply every 2 to 3 weeks

Simply spread the granules over the surface. They do not dissolve immediately: the larvae ingest them directly or the bacterium gradually diffuses. Action begins within 24 to 48 hours.

Recommended application areas

  • Saucers, water reservoir trays, watering cans
  • Ponds, basins, small pools, natural pools
  • Rainwater collectors, pits, inspection chambers
  • Wet areas, gutters, small wastewater treatment units
