Trichogramma are micro-hymenopterans (< 1 mm) that are egg parasitoids. The female lays her eggs inside those of the pest, which destroys them and prevents the caterpillars from hatching. Certain Trichogramma species attack the eggs of the box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis), the butterfly responsible for the destruction of boxwood.
After emergence and leaving the dispensers, adult trichogramma parasitize box tree moth eggs Other trichogramma will then emerge from these eggs and can in turn parasitize new moth eggs. In this way, TRICHOTOP® BUXUS eliminates the pest before the first damage occurs!
Packaged in dispensers, the trichogramma are protected from bad weather and insects. Simply hang the dispenser in the middle of the boxwood to optimize the action of the trichogramma. In its dense foliage, the boxwood will not reveal your dispenser. Installation in boxwood should be planned from the beginning of the pest’s flight (before damage appears).
