Pheromone trap for the pine processionary moth (Trampa G): use from June to capture male moths before they mate.

Use

This trap must be installed from June to September–October directly in the tree to be protected, to capture the pine processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa). The moths lay their eggs in pine needles, forming a few weeks later cocoons of processionary caterpillars, which are extremely dangerous. This trap is ideal for limiting the appearance of the caterpillars, which can then be treated with processionary caterpillar traps.

How the trap works

Using the pheromone (sold separately), the moths get trapped and fall into the bag, thus greatly reducing egg-laying.

For effective protection

  • 1 trap per isolated tree
  • Hedge or grove: 1 trap every 20 m or every 3 trees
  • Forest: 4 to 8 units per hectare
