This substrate reproduces the scent of the red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus); it is compatible with the RhynchoPro trap sold separately. This product lasts about 90 days (i.e., 3 months of treatment) (depending on humidity and heat). This product can be used in organic farming.

Storage

The product is easy to store at room temperature (even 30°C), and away from light.

The decree of July 21, 2010 makes it mandatory to control Rhynchophorus ferrugineus throughout the national territory; check with the environmental services or directly with your Town Hall.

Manufacturer’s advice

It is normal to see the bottle empty quickly within the first 10–15 days and then a steady rate sets in. In addition, breaking the wicks slows diffusion and makes the product last a really long time. This setup is suited to trapping weevils in cool weather conditions and on days when the temperature does not exceed 20°C. It is recommended, once the temperature rises, to break the wick to ensure a diffusion period of 90 days.
