This pheromone trap is specially designed to capture adult wireworms (Agriotes spp.). Adding a wireworm pheromone capsule attracts male wireworms and collects them in the trap. This basic principle makes it possible to detect the presence of the pest, limit mating with females and thus greatly limit the development of larvae in the soil. The trap is buried flush with the ground.
Wireworms are often responsible for damage to vegetable plants (potatoes, tomatoes, lettuces, onions or beets). Adults spend the winter in the soil and appear in spring, laying their eggs in the soil, which 2 to 4 weeks later will give rise to larvae. The larvae, also called "wireworms," cause damage at the crown of plants, to germinating seeds and to tubers.
Generally, it is recommended to use 1 trap per 150 m2
