Grape vine moth (Lobesia botrana)

Lobesia botrana is a small brown moth 5 to 8 mm long. It is part of the grapevine leafrollers and phytophagous pests to watch. There can be up to 3 generations per year. The first flights begin, depending on the climate, in early April. Setting up pheromone traps makes it possible to monitor the population in the vineyard and to know when to treat with an insecticide.

Damage to the vine

The grape vine moth can cause between 50 and 70% damage to the bunch of grapes. It mainly attacks fruiting organs. This pest often brings other damage (rots) with it, such as gray rot (Botrytis cinerea) and black rot (Aspergillus).

How to use this pheromone for the grape vine moth?

  • Use 2 to 3 pheromone traps per hectare
  • Hang the trap on the second wire of the row
  • Check the traps 1 to 2 times per week to monitor the population.

Directions for use

The Lobesia botrana pheromone comes in a sealed sachet. Use it as soon as the sachet is opened. Its duration of action is 4 to 6 weeks.

  • Use only 1 pheromone per trap.
  • Pheromone sachets should be stored cold:
