The squirrel opens the lid of the feeder by itself and helps itself to food. This way, the feeder is airtight and completely protected from bad weather, but also from other animals such as mice or rats. The transparent front of this feeder makes it possible to know when it needs to be refilled.
In trees or bushes, our squirrel friends are true acrobats and search for their food very intelligently. On their menu, you’ll ideally find peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, and sunflower seeds. To the great dismay of many bird lovers, squirrels frequently wreak havoc on bird feeders. This feeder, specially designed for squirrels, will allow these skillful rodents to get to their favorite treat, which they will enjoy on the spot, or hide at the back of your garden. Squirrels can also build up a stock for winter.
You can fill your feeder with squirrel food, or put in a mix of walnuts or hazelnuts, or even peanuts or raisins.

Try to place it in a frequently visited tree at a minimum height of 2 m, accessible for refilling the feeder while ensuring the squirrel’s peace and quiet. Put the feeder up as soon as the first cold weather arrives so it can get used to it, and make sure it is always filled. The feeder should face south or east to be sheltered from prevailing winds.
