The box tree moth originates from Asia and has invaded a large part of Europe. This pest is specific to boxwood. The caterpillar feeds on the leaves, which then dry out and turn white. These caterpillars are easily recognizable by their colors: they are green with black heads. After a few weeks, each caterpillar will become a new moth.
The box tree moth has a wingspan of 36 to 44 mm and can have two forms: bicolored with pearly white wings with brown edges, or entirely brown wings.
