Pine processionary caterpillar trap

The mechanical trap, or collar, for the pine processionary caterpillar is installed from December to May. It is during this period that the caterpillars are in procession and that the trap captures them even before they come down. Simple and economical, only the bag needs to be changed from one year to the next. This very eco-friendly system has been used for a few years by town halls, local authorities or parks; its effectiveness is no longer in doubt. As a complement, you will find pheromone traps for the processionary moth, nest boxes for tits that are very fond of the caterpillars, and finally Bacillus Thuringiensis, a natural bacterium that eliminates caterpillars by ingestion.
